ABOUT US

Granite is normally a coarse-grained plutonic or intrusive igneous rock composed largely of feldspar, quartz, and some common mica.  This provides a heavy crystalline and granular appearance with mineral grains. It is the most abundant rock in the earth’s crust.   The beauty and movement of each stone is unique, and is perfect for kitchen countertop application. Due to its ability to withstand high temperatures and daily use, it will not stain, etch or scratch.

What is Marble?

Marble is metamorphosed sedimentary carbonate rock. Limestone or dolomite are the typical base minerals. The recrystallization of the carbonate minerals result in Marble, which features a wide range of colors and is usually heavily veined.

Marble is sensitive to acid etching and not as heat resistant as granite and is not often used as kitchen countertops in the United States.  Marble is usually used for a variety of other applications, such as flooring, bathrooms, fireplaces, furniture, and many more.

Quartz countertops are man-made engineered stone countertops formed by combining 90% ground quartz (a natural hard mineral) with 8-10% resins, polymers, and pigments. This forms a very hard granite-like surface.

One major advantage of Quartz is the slabs come in a range of consistent colors which do not occur naturally in nature.  Recently, slabs have been created to look like natural stone.

Quartz is a low maintenance product and a great choice for countertops in your kitchen, favored by designers and architects alike due to its consistent colors and patterns.

What is Quartz?

Quartz is also know as engineered stone.

In most cases the answer is never.....or years and years after it is installed. Sealers are solids that have been emulsified in a solvent. They are designed to penetrate the stone, taking the solids with them. When the solvent evaporates, the molecules lock into the stone and seal it. Combine a quality sealer with the resin applied by the factory and you will have a very stain resistant top that will be virtually maintenance free. Rarely, if ever, will you need to seal granite that has been resined and properly sealed by your fabricator.

Over time, in the unlikely event that you do see some water absorb into the stone, simply reseal. We can supply you with the right sealer for your countertop.
